Media Training

I’m a proponent of media organizers training community members in how to create media. Here are a few training bits I’ve created over time to teach media-making skills to those who are interested.

How-tos and Tutorials: Posted in the training section of this site.

Audacity Training: my tutorial on using the open-source audio editor Audacity.

There are more Audacity and other tip sheets in my open source tech section.

Audioport: how radio producers can use Pacifica’s Audioport to share recordings. Pacifica’s Audioport is a fantastic tool to distribute audio to community radio stations. This video comes from the perspective of station-affiliated folks, but the basics are applicable to everyone.

Bonus: not training related, but fun. My long-form interview with former Pacifica Executive Director Greg Guma, just before his departure. It was recorded August 2007. Probably instructive in terms of managing tough situations.
