The Honduran community in Houston is inviting the public to a forum on the political situation in Honduras and the status of the elections. Everyone is invited to attend.
The Honduran political situation is still a tense one. Manuel Zelaya continues to fight against a U.S.-supported effort to keep him out of power. In a Nov. 14 letter to President Barack Obama, Zelaya wrote, “Every time a legitimate government is overturned in America, the violence and terrorism it wins the battle and democracy is defeated. We refused to believe that the military coup executed in Honduras it is already the new twentieth first century’s form of terrorism of state.”
The event happens Saturday, Nov. 21, at 2 p.m. and will be hosted at the Southwest Multi-Service Center, 6400 High Star, which is near U.S. 59 and Hillcroft. The community forum is sponsored by Hondurenos Por La Democracia.
